RECIPE REMIX: Heritage Competition 2025


How To Enter

  1. Contestants must follow the link to the landing page and submit their entry to the competition (by submitting their remixed recipes though the online form.)
  2. Contestants can only win the competition once and must be a natural person in possession of a valid South African identity document and be a permanent resident or citizen of the Republic of South Africa.
  3. Contestants need to ensure that their ID number and relevant contact details are provided when entering the competition.

Terms & Conditions

  1. By entering this competition, you agree and are deemed to have accepted and be bound to all the competition rules.
  2. The organiser reserves the right to amend, modify or change these terms and conditions at its sole and absolute discretion without notice. These changes will take effect from the date of publication on the website. By participating or continuing to participate in the competition, the contestant agrees and understands that he/she will be bound by the amended terms and conditions.
  3. Old Mutual are the promoters of the competition (referred to as the “organisers”).
  4. The Old Mutual “Recipe Remix Heritage Campaign” is open for entry from 10 September 2025.
  5. The competition closes the day of 10 October 2025.
  6. The competition organisers will notify three winners at the end of the competition via telephone, SMS or email. The organisers will use their reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the competition organisers cannot contact a prize winner after three attempts within two working days after the announcement has been made, that person will forfeit the prize and the organiser reserves the right to then award the prize to the next winner via a random draw.
  7. The prizes consist of:
    1. The 1st prize is a full year’s groceries to the value of R2000 per month at Shoprite (R24 000), and their remixed recipe will be featured in our next cookbook.
    2. 2nd and 3rd prizes are three month’s groceries of R2000 per month at Shoprite (R6000), and their remixed recipes will be featured in our next cookbook.
  8. All contestants’ entries and personal information provided will be kept confidential and will only be used for the purposes of the prize draw and notifying the winners of this competition.
  9. By entering into the competition, the contestants’ consent to the personal information of the respective contestant being shared with the organiser's service providers to for purposes of the competition. This data will not be provided to third parties for marketing purposes and will be safeguarded and destroyed in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act.
  10. The organisers’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  11. The competition is not open to Old Mutual Money Account customers and Old Mutual Lending’s customers with more than 90 days arrears on their accounts and premiums.
  12. Winners may not receive any further prize in any other Old Mutual competition within a 12-month period after winning any prize.
  13. The following persons are disqualified from entering the competition: any director, member, partner, employee, or agent of, or consultant to Old Mutual Limited or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by, Old Mutual as well as any supplier of goods or services in connection with this competition.
  14. 14. By entering the competition, participants agree that, should they be selected as a winner, their name, entry, and recipe may be published on Old Mutual’s website, social media channels, magazines, or any other media platforms. Acceptance of the prize constitutes consent to such publication, and this is a condition of entry. If a winner does not agree to these terms, the prize will be forfeited, and an alternate winner may be selected. This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with any Social Network.
  15. Contestants participate entirely at their own risk.
  16. The right of admission into this competition lies solely with the organisers and is non-negotiable.
  17. The organisers are not responsible for any costs the winner may have when claiming or using the prize.
  18. Old Mutual may terminate this competition with immediate effect. In such event, all entrants waive any rights, which they may have against Old Mutual, and acknowledge that they will have no recourse to any claim of any sort.
  19. By entering into the competition, the contestant indemnifies and holds the organisers, their directors, affiliates, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, suppliers, contractors and sponsors harmless against any loss or damages, either direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise, arising from its participation in this competition and related events and activities. This includes, but is not limited to, personal injuries, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy. Entrants accept that the indemnified parties will not be responsible for any costs, damage or otherwise, howsoever incurred by the winners after claiming the prize.
  20. The organisers, at their sole discretion, reserve the right to carry out reasonable due diligence to confirm eligibility and help ensure that the use of any such person in advertising or publicity for the competition will not bring the organisers or any of the organisers’ brands into public disrepute, contempt, scandal or ridicule or reflect unfavourably on the competition as determined by the organisers.
  21. The organisers assume no responsibility whatsoever for any entry that has been left out from participation for any reason.
  22. The prize is not transferable. No substitution or assignment of prize is permitted, and the prize is not exchangeable for cash, but the organisers reserve the right to substitute the prize with one of comparable value.
  23. Old Mutual has the right to disqualify any contestant if it believes that the contestant:
    1. Has not complied with these rules, or
    2. Has tried to unfairly influence the outcome of the competition.

PRIVACY NOTICE:

By participating in the competition, you agree to the collection and use of your personal information for the purposes of administrating this competition and awarding the prize(s). Except where prohibited by law or objected to by the participant at any time, the participant’s personal information will also be used for the purposes of direct marketing, including electronic direct marketing. The winner agrees to his/her name and/or photograph being published for the purposes of announcing the winners for this competition and related advertising purposes, in any form of media and without additional compensation, notification or permission. The participant can revoke this consent at any time.  The participant further agrees to the applicable provisions in the promoter’s Group Privacy Notice. The notice sets out the personal information the promoter processes, the rights of the customer/participant and how the customer/participant can contact the promoter if he/she believes that the promoter acted contrary to the provisions of the promoter’s privacy notice.
